Isaac is smiling more and more but we have a hard time catching the smiles on camera. Here are a couple pictures of a sort of smile. Notice the dimple! He definitely smiles a lot bigger than this, but for now you'll have to just take our word for it. He's changing even faster now. As of Wednesday he weighs 11 pounds. He's less offended by being naked now and even sometimes seems to enjoy it, and while he doesn't yet enjoy baths he doesn't hate them so much anymore either. He's also very entertained by the baby in the mirror on his play gym (that's actually who he's looking at above). He still gets extremely angry very quickly when he's hungry and he still likes to be held as much as possible.

Sticky Notes
My friend Erin did this really cute thing where she took pictures of her baby wearing sticky notes displaying her age during the first year of her life. We decided to copy Erin. On his actual four week birthday, Isaac was unimpressed by the sticky note game. We tried again a couple days later and things went a little better. Here are both pictures because if you truly want to see what Isaac is like, you need to see him not just cute and sweet (which he often is) but you also need to see him really, really mad. Sometimes, he gets really, really mad.

Uncle Pete and Aunt Connie
Ike and I ended up at Aunt Connie and Uncle Pete's house for a few days this week. Here's how it happened. Ricci had gone to a conference for school last week and my Aunt Connie came up to help me out while he was gone. Her second night in town, I went into the bedroom at about 10pm to find water leaking through a bulging spot in the ceiling. Turns out the ice maker on the fridge in the apartment upstairs was leaking (a problem Connie diagnosed before the plumber even arrived). We ended up heading home with her while the ceiling was "fixed" (which entailed the landlord's son-in-law screwing a metal plate over the hole, but at least the leak came through the ceiling before mold started to grow).
During his first experience as a house guest, Isaac enjoyed eating every hour on the hour two of the three nights we stayed, hanging out with Pete and Connie in the early mornings so mom could get a couple hours of sleep, and making their dog Callie as jealous as possible. And still, Pete and Connie say we're welcome back whenever. They completely rock.

Family photos
I'm a little behind on posting. The little really keeps me on my toes, even though I've had a lot of help in the last couple weeks. These photos were taken on April 5th, the last day of my parents' visit. They stayed a week and my mom took more than her fair share of middle of the night feedings. They also left us with a very well stocked freezer. I'm not sure what I'll do when I have to actually start cooking meals again, but for now we're eating well.

Welcome Isaac
Baby Taco is here and his official name is Isaac. After a full day of labor followed by a very quick c-section, little Isaac finally joined us at 9:50 pm on 03/18/2010. He weighed in at 7lbs 10oz and 19 1/2 inches (though a mix up in the OR originally reported his weight to me at 10 lbs 5 oz and I spent the first two hours of his life thinking I'd given birth to one really big kid). He spent the first night and most of the next day in the NICU clearing up some breathing issues, but everything was fine and he's healthy and amazing. His current likes include eating and cuddling; major dislikes are being hungry, naked and/or sponge bathed.
